Brighton Marine is a nonprofit organization that provides housing, healthcare,
financial, and community services for veterans. The project involved the
complete gut renovation of an existing building and created 25 new
apartments each equipped with a kitchen, bathroom, and a spacious open
floor bedroom plan along with lobbies and common areas. Project qualified
for HUD-VASH program, which pairs HUD’s Housing Choice Voucher (HCV)
rental assistance with VA case management and supportive services for
homeless Veterans.
Project Highlights
- Scope of work included all new HVAC Systems, Fire Protection, Fire Alarm with BDA, Plumbing, and Electrical Systems with Emergency Generator.
- New 4 stop elevator & CMU shaft installed, which required needed shoring of existing columns and underpinning of the column footings to create shaft pit.
- Construction operations took place in a compressed urban setting requiring a comprehensive site logistics plan and approvals from city officials.
